Creating a Dream Team


I want to talk to you about creating a dream team. Most people think a team is together, everyone achieves more, which is true. For me, a team is a total employee automated machine. That’s a business that basically automated by your employees and runs without you. That is the Holy Grail of business and that’s where most people want to get to, so I’m going to talk to you a little bit about my story and how you can get there too.

Seven years ago, I actually had to fire all my employees. I had to get rid of everyone. They were not the right people in my business and I basically had to start over and start from scratch. Four years later, I was able to rebuild it and now, I’ve got a team of 14 people that run the business completely without me. I’m 99% hands off and all I have to do is oversee the main functions of the business, the operation, and just make strategic decisions. I’m a visionary and now, I can oversee the business almost like a chess game, put the pieces where they need to go.

A lot of entrepreneurs, what they do is they get stuck in the time and money trap. They get into business because they want more time and they want more money, they want more freedom. What happens is the opposite. Entrepreneurs, they don’t have as much time to themselves because, of course, they’ve got to dedicate hours to the business and they also don’t have money because they’ve got to reinvest it in their business and sometimes, it just takes a while for money to come back in.

What I like to do is I want to get people out of the time and money trap. If you change your ways throughout your entrepreneurial career, you’re going to get more time and money. You need to create yourself a team, a total employee automated machine and you do that with people and systems. You have to hire the right people, get good people in place, and make sure that you have those people that are running your systems efficiently but you have to give them the power to automate the precision and to systemize every single aspect of your business.

You need to start creating the systems and good employees are going to take their job and automate it even one step further. In fact, there’s so many different things in my business that I don’t even know what’s going on because they put different programs and systems and automation in place that they’ve documented it. The rest of my team knows it or some of my team knows it so they can train other people in case that person leaves. I don’t need to know about it because they automate it and they made it their own. You need to be able to empower those people to take it on.

Again, I just wanted to instill the team concept to you, a total employee automated machine. It starts with people and systems and it really starts with you as an entrepreneur, so make sure you’re doing the things that you need to do to get to your dream team.
